Public relations, communication and interesting times in China.
Although Imagethief is not particularly religious, he is by descent a card carrying member of The Chosen People. He was therefore highly amused by the two following videos:
Jon Stewart, in one of his all-time great rants, on congress breaking for Rosh Hashana this week, at the height of the economic crisis (note -- readers in China will need a VPN for Hulu video):
And Sarah Silverman urging young Jews to head to Florida to get their grandparents to vote for Obama in "The Great Schlep". Yes, it sounds like a cliche, but Imagethief's grandparents retired to Florida from Philadelphia so, really, they're on to something:
Jon Stewart H/T Silicon Alley Insider. Sarah Silverman H/T my mom.
"If [grandparents] vote Obama... they're gonna get another visit this year..."
Classic!
@Will
Had no idea you were part of the Christmas Day Chinese Food Eating Mafia as well. Chag Sameach!
Is the first video hosted elsewhere too? I got an error message saying it was only playable in the US... until I switched on the VPN and made myself appear American.
@William: Yeah, I should have flagged that. It's Hulu, which doesn't let you watch in China except through VPN. The Comedy Central site should be accessible, but I don't have a direct link. I'll add a note.
@Ben: Well, by descent at any rate, if not by observance. Jews are well represented in the China blogosphere for some reason.
"circum-super-sized"
