Public relations, communication and interesting times in China.
A hysterical, must-watch video "news" segment from satirical newspaper The Onion, which excels at humor that stings because it skirts the edge of first-glance credibility.
Hat tip: Brendan O'Kane.
"If you speed them up, they could cause a lot of damage" Brilliant!
I'm counting the days until some Chinese media source reports this as actual news and expresses outrage, claiming that the video has "hurt the feelings of the Chinese people".
Dave: this spoof has been on several blogs already with the predictable responses from the local "netizens" (and PSB moles) expressing outrage and disbelief, etc etc etc. as they usually do.
Interesting how they never express outrage when their basic rights as people, protected by THEIR constitution, are abused and trampled on daily...
haha gold I love it how they brought in the "been preparing for this for thousands of years" line. It never fails to get old...
Hunxuer - I see where you are going but I don't think it surprising at all. After all, I can call my family all the names I choose to, but would fight to the end to stop anyone else doing the same (metaphorically speaking of course)
The PRC never saw The Onion coming and are handing it almost as much material as the entire Bush administration did over 8 years.
How long will it be before there is an "anti-Onion" website?
