Will, this must be pay back for the free flight to Hawaii. When Jay Fidell told me about your scheduled appearance on the panel, I assumed you were combining your talking head duty with a vacation paid for out of your own pocket, as those Think Tech Hawaii panels are not generously funded by sponsors. The delay in Kansai will eat up all that free time you wanted / needed to over come jet lag and show up fresh and fabulous as the first speaker at the seminar.

Fab Will.. though not a delight for you for sure!I endured 5 years of their ##%$&*^##@*? hypocrisy and ass licking ( hey maybe that’s where their CaptKirk techno-crappers get all their functions from!!) a feasable alternative to good toileting practices is in Bangkok (PingPong district??) with a Chang beer in one hand and a tequila shooter in the other and in a conundrum when you finish urinating as how to clean..et voila a 6ft transsexual with a pair of really nasty eyebrows is there to lick it off for you!! ahh no place like Thailand Sawadee Khrup! ( true and unfortunate tale!)Enjoy Hawaii and you will find lots of Japanese in the gun/shooting ranges in Honolulu with a 44 magnum doing a really bad Clint Eastwood imitation!

Oh Rinku, I have such akward nostalgia about that sub suburban collection of box shaped business hotels. If you’re really in need of more odd entertainment than your wonder toilet can provide, the Japanese version of Universal Studios is located in the neighbourhood. Which is not Hawaii, but it beats girdle ads and chuhai.

Another classic post. Gotta love those Japanese bum washing toilets. One of the highlights of the trip. I went through Kansai two years ago on a trip to Kobe. It is as you say. In the middle of nowhere. At least in Kobe my hotel had restaurants.

It could have been worse. You could be sleeping in a capsule the size of a SubZero refrigerator, bathing in a communal shower and buying your undersized bath towels from a vending machine. Suggest if you get bored to take another look at that toilet. Japanese bathroom fixtures completely redefine the term “water sports.”
